A five story, 175 unit, mixed use complex is in the works for 761 South C Street, in Oxnard. Aldersgate Investment is behind the project. The development will require the demolition of a 27,000 square foot educational training building. The working title for the project is “C Street Apartments.”
The lot is 1.5 acres. It is currently serviced by the C and 8th bus stop, connecting to the 1A, 1B, and 18A routes. The new building will be a podium design. Renderings depict a contemporary aesthetic, with large windows and glass rimmed balconies.
Units will include studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom layouts, all of which will be in the upper four floors. They will range in size from 500 to 1,400 square feet. Eighteen will be low income housing. Residents will be able to enjoy an on-site gym.
1,100 square feet of commercial space will be on the ground floor, along with parking. The site will have 99 parking stalls in total. 18,700 square feet of private open space, and 5,300 square feet of public open space are included in the design. A timeline has not been announced.
