A new affordable housing project has been proposed for development at 417 South Alvarado Street in Westlake. The project proposal includes the development of a new affordable housing project via the Mayor’s Executive Directive 1.

Menorah Housing Foundation is the project applicant. KFA Architecture is responsible for the project.

The scope of work includes the redevelopment of the project site to bring an affordable housing project. Plans call for the new construction of a seven-story building featuring 109 one- and two-bedroom apartments with parking for 25 vehicles.

All apartments will be available for very low-income, low-income, and moderate-income households. The 100 percent affordable development will be eligible for density bonus incentives permitting a larger structure than otherwise allowed by zoning rules.

A project application was submitted to the City of Los Angeles seeking entitlements. The project site is located north of MacArthur Park in Westlake.
