A new affordable housing project will soon take shape and form at its project site located at 539 North Kenmore Avenue in East Hollywood, Los Angeles. The project proposal included the construction of a new five-story building offering 65 residential units as affordable housing. A fourplex on the site will be demolished for the project to begin construction.
Thomas Beadel is listed as the project applicant. Stockton Architects is responsible for the designs.
Plans call for the construction of a new five-story building containing 65 residential units. All units will be designed as one-bedroom apartments. No on-site parking has been proposed at this time.
The new apartments would be restricted to rent by moderate-income, low-income, and very low-income households. In exchange, the project would be eligible for density bonus incentives permitting a larger structure than allowed by zoning rules.
Renderings reveal a contemporary low-rise structure designed in painted stucco. The project will be executed via Mayor’s Executive Directive 1. A project application was submitted to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning recently.
The project site is located southwest of the US-101 Freeway. The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet.
