Construction activity is now visible at 1201 North Detroit Street in West Hollywood, where non-profit developer EAH Housing is moving forward with a new affordable housing development known as Lexington Gardens.

The five-story project is set to deliver 48 residential units, consisting primarily of studio apartments alongside a single two-bedroom unit designated for on-site management. Unit sizes are planned to range from approximately 384 to 447 square feet, with affordability restrictions targeting households earning between 30 and 60 percent of the area median income.

Designed by DE Architects, the building adopts a compact, contemporary form suited to its corner location at Detroit Street and Lexington Avenue. Plans indicate the inclusion of shared amenities such as a community room, laundry facilities, and dedicated space for resident services, reflecting the project’s supportive housing mission. Walton Construction is serving as the project’s general contractor.

Lexington Gardens adds to a growing portfolio of affordable housing developments undertaken by EAH Housing in West Hollywood and surrounding communities. Once completed, the project will introduce new income-restricted housing within a walkable residential area, contributing additional supply to a city with limited opportunities for multifamily infill.
