A new residential project has been proposed for development at 2020 East First Street in Santa Ana. The project proposal includes the development of a new residential community offering 80 residences. The project calls for the demolition of a vacant office building that was built in the 1980s.
MLC Holdings is the project developer. Kevin L. Crook Architect Inc is responsible for the designs. C2 Collaborative serving is the landscape architect.

The project site spans an area of 3.72 acres. The scope of work includes the development of a new residential community offering 80 townhomes. Named Meritage Homes, all residences will rise three or four stories high and feature two-bedroom, three-bedroom, four-bedroom floor plans. The size of the townhomes is proposed to range between 1,200 square feet to 1,800 square feet.
Additionally, 6 live-work units spanning 2,500 square feet in size are also proposed. All residences will also feature two car garages with either side-by-side or tandem parking configuration. The project site would have 194 parking spaces including guest parking.
The community will also offer five residences as very low-income housing options, reserved for applicants earning $78,900 per year. The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet.
