EAH Housing is moving forward with an adaptive reuse proposal in Glendale that would convert an existing assisted living facility into income-restricted housing for seniors. The project, branded Parkview Glendale, is planned for 426 Piedmont Avenue with a secondary address at 507 Naranja Drive, and it would retain and rehabilitate the existing two-story structure rather than replacing it with new construction.
According to the developer’s announcement, the renovated building would contain 68 studio and one-bedroom apartments for older adults. The units are described as being delivered with basic in-unit features such as appliances, central heating and air, and window coverings, positioning the project as a modernization of an older care-era building into long-term residential housing.
EAH Housing is crediting Egan Simon Architecture as the project’s architect, with ICON National serving as general contractor. The rehabilitation scope is tied to an approximately 43,000-square-foot building program and includes shared indoor and outdoor spaces intended to support day-to-day resident needs, including a community room, resident lounge, management offices, and on-site laundry.
Outdoor elements are also part of the plan, with courtyards and a community garden cited as features of the reworked campus layout. EAH’s announcement also notes resident-facing support in the form of a coordinator for resident services, aligning the project with supportive programming often paired with senior affordable housing.
The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet.
