A new residential project is under construction taking shape and form at 6007 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of a new seven-story mixed-use apartment complex offering retail and residential spaces.
CIM Group is the project developer. Lahmon Architects is responsible for the designs. Shubin Donaldson created the design of 6007 Sunset.
The scope of work includes the construction of a new mixed-use building offering spaces for residential use and ground-floor retail use. The seven-story building will bring 190 apartments designed as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floor plans above parking for 196 vehicles. Commercial space spanning an area of 14,600 square feet will be developed on the ground floor.
Th project site received entitlement using density bonus incentives to allow for a larger structure with less on-site open space than would normally be permitted by zoning rules. In exchange, 14 of the new apartments are to be set aside as deed-restricted affordable units priced for very low-income households.
Renderings reveal a contemporary podium-type building designed in stucco and corrugated metal panels. Residents will be enjoy an onsite courtyard and amenity decks.
The project was approved in 2022. The project site is located across the street from Emerson College in Hollywood.
