A five-story affordable housing development is planned for 8811 South Reading Avenue in Westchester. HVN Development filed an application with the City of Los Angeles on June 8 for a new residential project near the K Line.
The proposal would create 77 apartments, with floor plans split between one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. The development does not include on-site parking.
The homes would be reserved for low-income and moderate-income renters. The project would rely on density bonus incentives, allowing a larger building than the site would otherwise permit.
Stockton Architects is designing the project. The rendering shows a contemporary mid-rise structure with a centered entry, landscaped frontage, and a facade combining gray, blue, and light-toned exterior finishes.
The Reading Avenue proposal would add to HVN Development’s work in the surrounding Westchester neighborhood. Another HVN affordable housing project is already under construction nearby at 8911 South Ramsgate Avenue.
The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet.
