A new mixed-use project has been unwrapped at its project site at 8521 Sepulveda Boulevard in Westchester. The project proposal includes the construction of a new six-story complex offering residential and retail spaces. The project site previously housed a Grinder restaurant. Los Angeles-based Caladan Investments is the project developer. Lahmon Architects is responsible for the designs.
A new affordable housing project has possibly found its new construction site at 6621 Manchester Avenue in Westchester. The project proposal includes the development of affordable housing, replacing a shuttered fire station on the site.
A new residential building has been proposed for construction at 8833 South Ramsgate Avenue in Westchester. The project proposal includes the development of a five-story apartment building offering residential units and onsite parking. The larger apartment complex will replace a duplex and three existing rental units on the site. K&K Ramsgate, LLC is the property owner and project applicant. Aaron Brumer & Associates is designing the project.
Los Angeles Metro Rail has announced the opening of the highly anticipated K Line. The route adds seven new stops, and will eventually connect Metro Line E, which travels between Downtown and Santa Monica, to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The light rail line currently serves the communities of West Adams, Jefferson Park, Baldwin Hills, Leimert Park, Hyde Park, Inglewood, and Westchester. The official metro website states that “The K Line was designed and built with the help of community input and local voices to provide a faster, more convenient and reliable way to connect to jobs, schools and the rich cultural places throughout these communities.”
8521 South Sepulveda Boulevard has topped out, in Westchester. Caladan Investments is behind the new development, which maximizes the square footage of an “L” shaped lot that encompasses a gas station. The location is only a few blocks from Los Angeles International Airport.
