Exterior work is nearing completion at 849 North Bunker Hill Avenue, in Chinatown. BH Construction Company is the primary contractor on the project. When completed, it will bring denser housing, as well as some low-income housing, to the area.
The building will be 84 feet tall, 113 feet long, and 112 feet wide. It will be six stories high, with 32,400 square feet of floor. Inside there will be 37 residential units. Two of the units will be set aside for very low-income households.
Due to the hilly nature of the location, the parking garage will be partly at grade. Inside, there will be space for 1 compact, 2 disabled, and 35 standard parking stalls. 38 long-term and 4 short-term bicycle stalls will be available. The Lincoln Heights/Chinatown bus stop is within a short walking distance, providing additional transportation.
Labyrinth Design Studio is the architectural firm behind the project. Renderings depict a bright, modern building with a layered exterior and balconies. The site will offer sweeping views of Chinatown and beyond. $4.9 million was the permit valuation at the time of filing.
