A new mixed-use project has been proposed at At 5801 Atlantic Avenue In North Long Beach. The project proposal includes the redevelopment of a vacant lot into a residential community featuring townhomes and retail space on the site.
Irvine-based firm Brandywine Homes is the project developer. Withee Malcolm Is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 3.2 acres. Named Rhythm, the project will bring 84 three-story townhomes. The residences will be designed as a mix of two-bedroom, three-bedroom, and four-bedroom dwellings. Floor plans range from 1,166 square feet to 1,898 square feet in size. Street-fronting commercial space measuring an area of 2,300 square feet will be developed on the site.
Rhythm will also include 13 live-work units. A community room measuring an area of 567 square feet will be constructed for the residents. Renderings reveal contemporary low-rise structures with pitched roofs and facades clad in stucco. Each townhome will include a two-bedroom garage and a private patio. A common pool will be designed on the site.
The retail building will be a two-story building featuring spaces for a cafe, a restaurant, and outdoor dining.
At the site level, the proposal calls for full-width sidewalks along Atlan Avenue, as well as bulb-outs at intersections and other traffic-calming features.
