A new planned community has been approved for the expansion of Northbank Drive, in Ventura. The site will bring a variety of new units to the area, some of which will be low income. Dansk Investments is the developer for the project.
The 25-acre property is located approximately 1,000 feet south of Telephone Road. There will be 198 units in total. 50 will be apartments, 31 triplex/quadplex, and 117 single family homes. 30 units will be affordably priced for moderate income families. None of the units will be live/work designs.
Infrastructure updates for the site include 4.8 acres of public parks/green space, 0.17 acres of private open space, public streets/alleys, and newly assigned Street Names. The park will extend across the northern boundary of the site, south along the property’s eastern boundary next to the Brown Barranca, and extend west along the site’s southern boundary. It will include multiple play structures for different age groups, bicycle and running paths, exercise stations, exploration areas, and a splash pad.
For parking, the single-family and triplex/quadplex dwellings will have alley-loaded garages. The apartments will have a combination of off-street parking beneath carports, in garages, and interior surface parking spaces, as well as on-street parallel parking spaces. Dicecco Architecture Incorporated and KTGY Architecture collaborated on the design.
