San Gabriel City Council approves a mixed-use project at 700-800 San Gabriel Boulevard. The project proposal includes the development of a building offering residential and retail space. Four years after announcing plans to redevelop the former site of a nursery with condominiums, the project is moving forward.
Pacific Plaza Premier Development Group is the project developer. Media Portfolio is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
The project site is a vacant parcel spanning an area of 5.85 acres site. The proposed project will bring 243 residential units as a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom condominiums. Eight live-work units will also be developed. Retail space spanning an area of 76,000 square feet will be designed on the ground floor. A semi-subterranean parking garage with a capacity of 983 vehicles will be constructed on the site.
Renderings reveal two five-story buildings featuring housing, commercial uses, and residential amenities. The two podium-type structures flank a roughly 23,000-square-foot park space that opens to Gladys Avenue on the eastern property line and a 10,000-square-foot plaza fronting San Gabriel Boulevard.
Construction of Pacific Square is anticipated to occur over an approximately 32-month period.
