Just north of the 101 Freeway, a new apartment building is soon going to occupy the parcel at 507-517 North Hoover Street. Los Angeles-based developer, Category Company has filed for permits seeking the approval of constructing a new multi-family housing building. The project proposal also includes the demolition of two single-family dwellings and a commercial structure on site.
Bittoni Architects is managing the design concept and construction of the housing redevelopment.
The project site spans across an area of 0.5 acres. The 60,000 square-foot-foot development will house forty apartments above a subterranean parking garage. The garage will offer parking space for approximately fifty vehicles. Forty-four parking spaces for bicycles are allotted. On-site amenities like a community room, a central courtyard, and a small rooftop deck are provided. Four of the proposed three and five-bedroom apartments will be offered as affordable housing. The residences are offered as a mix of twenty-six five-bedroom units, eight three-bedroom units, one two-bedroom units, and five one-bedroom units. An open space of 5,300 square feet is also included.
The new residences, named 511 Hoover, will rise to a facade height of six-stories. The architecture style implemented is a contemporary podium-type structure with stucco cladding and wood-finish siding.
