Renderings have been revealed showcasing a micro-unit housing project at 1317 Grand Avenue in South Park, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of an eight-story high apartment building with on-site amenities for its residents. Downtown-based architecture firm, Steinberg Hart, is managing the design concepts and construction.
OZ Navigator and Housing Diversity Corporation are on-board as developers invested in the project. The development is intended to offer housing at affordable rents to moderate-income households.
The residential building spans across an area of 48,000 square feet. The building will house 151 studio apartments, averaging approximately 325 square feet in size. The mid-rise contemporary structure will feature cantilever balconies, a roof-top deck, and work space on the ground floor.
An existing single-story commercial building is proposed to be demolished. The estimated cost of construction is $5.4 million. The date of project completion has been estimated to be April 2022.
The site location is a bike and walk-friendly area. Residents will be in close proximity of many amenities; 10-minute walk to grocery stores, 5-minute walk to Venice Hope Park and 3-minute walk to Metro.
