A supportive housing project at 6604 South West Boulevard in Hyde Park is under construction. The project proposal includes the construction of a four-story structure featuring residential units and supportive services.
Local non-profit, A Community of Friends, is the project developer. FSY Architects is managing the design concepts and construction. R.D. Olson Construction is the general contractor of the project.
Named West Terrace, the four-story housing project will consist of 64 residential units, offered as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom. On-site supportive services will also be included. On-site amenities include a community room, a playground, an interior courtyard, and a community garden. Units will be reserved for households making at or below 30 and 50 percent of the area median income.
Renderings reveal a low-rise contemporary building. The project is anticipated to receive LEED Gold Certification. The project received funding of $19 million in bond funding.
The project is on track for its completion in Summer 2022. The property is located north of the Crenshaw (LAX) Line and is surrounded by various supportive housing projects.
