Work is finishing up at 950 Warwick Avenue, in Thousand Oaks. The project, by Pan-Am Builders, has been titled “Oaks Garden Townhomes.” It will bring 23 new residences to the area. The style mixes Adobe and Mediterranean elements in a contemporary design.

The site was originally about four acres of land, bordered by Warwick Avenue, and Moorpark Road. A chapel and education building were constructed on the property in 1962, prior to incorporation of the City. A social hall was added in 1969. The site was then subdivided into two separate parcels, about two acres each.

In 2005, the Planning Commission approved construction of the townhomes, with a few small updates made in 2015. The homes range in size from 2,126 square feet to 2,193 square feet and have three to four bedrooms. Each has a two car garage on the ground floor. Amenities will include a pool and indoor laundry. Some of the units will have balconies. Prices will start in the mid 700,000’s.

Landscaping and permanent irrigation of parkway areas between the back of curb and front of the sidewalk on Warwick Avenue and Mayflower Street are part of the improvements to the area. 6 -inch high planters will be on the curb at the back of sidewalk to stop debris and soils from washing off the slope and onto the sidewalk. Several oak trees were removed to make the layout work, the developer will replace them with new trees on different locations on the property.
