Apartments at Anchors Way & Navigator Drive have opened, in Ventura. The site brings brand new housing next to Ventura Harbor. The design includes 300 apartments and 21,300 square feet of commercial space. Construction began in 2016. Soderman Ring Partners were the developers.
The parcel is 26 acres. Homes are in 19 two and three story buildings, formed into five neighborhood blocks. 30 units will be live/work designs. Designs include 10 bungalows, 132 apartment homes, and 128 townhomes. Layouts include studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom options. 27 units are low income housing, with 12 under the low income tier, and 15 under the moderate income tier.
A central plaza provides a mixed-use building. Next to it is a 2.5 acre public park by a 50 foot wide pedestrian promenade along the water’s edge. Amenities for residents include a pool area, spa, bocce ball court, tennis court, pet park, and amenities at the recreation building.
Togawa Smith Martin are the architects behind the design. It is inspired by classic Spanish Colonial-style architecture. The development has been titled, “Portside Ventura Harbor,” as it is located next to a public port with additional walking paths. Some homes will have waterfront views.
