A new senior living complex has been proposed for 2300 East Pleasant Valley Road, in Oxnard. Lauterbach and Associates is listed as the architectural firm for the project. The design would make use of an irregular, rectangular shaped lot, bordered by Pleasant Valley Road and mobile home estates.
The plan is sometimes referred to as Phase II of Dansk II Apartments. The site is just over an acre in size. Plans have been in the works since at least 2015, but have been complicated by zoning changes. Original designs called for a 70 unit, 51,600 square foot center.
Currently, specifications have been renegotiated to 46 units. Three units will fall under the lower income tier, and another two under the moderate income tier, of the low income housing scale. The building will be two stories over all, in an “L” shaped design.
Parking will be located in front of the units, with a statement fountain and/or park like environment, visible from Pleasant Valley Road. Other proposed amenities include communal dining, limited resident medical support, theater, library, hair salon, craft and recreation rooms and transportation services. A time frame for the plan has not been announced.
