Applications for supportive housing at 8547 North Sepulveda Boulevard are now being accepted, providing an opportunity for individuals to apply for this housing initiative. The project kick-off construction last year in the first quarter. The project proposal included the construction of a four-story building featuring 50+ supportive housing units, onsite residential services, and parking.
LA Family Housing is the project developer. Gonzalez Goodale Architects (GGA) is responsible for the designs. The project team also includes United Building Company and AMJ Construction Management, Inc.
The project site is located in North Hill, Los Angeles. Named My Angel, the project is a four-story building offering 54 residential units, available for rent for low-income and extremely low-income households. The residential complex also offers onsite supportive services, along with a parking garage with a capacity of 20 vehicles. The residential project offers amenities including a dog park, exercise room, BBQ area, bike storage/parking, technology center, laundry rooms, community room, outdoor courtyards, and administration offices for the manager and staff.
The residential unit mix is comprised of 54 studios and one two-bedroom floor plan for the manager. The studios average an area of 395 square feet and the two-bedroom averages 815 square feet. In-unit amenities include a refrigerator, oven, heating, and cooling air systems. All units are furnished with a bed and dresser, dining table with chairs, sofa, coffee table and lamp. Accessibility features include wheelchair access, accessible doorway, and audible signals.
The residential units are reserved for unhoused veterans and people suffering from chronic homelessness. As per LA County Housing Resource Center, referrals agencies are able to submit referral applications to Management starting October 2023.
The project is referred by Los Angeles County Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) and the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS) through the Coordinated Entry System (CES). Applications are now being accepted. Construction costs were reported at an estimate of $31.8 million. The project site previously housed Angel Appliances store that operated from 1955 to when it was recently shut down.
