A new hotel project is under construction at 124 East Olympic Boulevard in Downtown Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the conversion of an existing building in to a hotel.
Ennismore is the project developer. Shivom, LLC is listed as the property owner. KFA Architecture is responsible for the designs.
The scope of work includes the conversion of Mart South Building into a hotel offering 149 rooms. The hotel will be a part of the Mama Shelter Hotel chain. The project will convert the upper floors of the six-story commercial building into 149 hotel rooms. Plans also call for adding a pool and amenities to its rooftop.
The hotel will be designed with 145 standard rooms and four suites, as well as food and beverage venues on the ground floor and rooftop, a fitness center, and a parking garage.
Mart South was built in the 1950s as an extension of the massive California Market Center across the street. It was entitled for a hotel conversion in 2019 by its prior owner, Jamison Services.
Mama Shelter, a Parisian hotel chain was established in Los Angeles in 2015, featuring a 70-room hotel at 6500 Selma Avenue in Hollywood.
