A new infill residential project is in the works at 1775 Beloit Avenue in Sawtelle, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a housing complex on a narrow site next to the I-405 freeway.
Santa Monica-based firm WS Communities is the project developer. Culver City-based ShubinDonaldson is the principal architect, responsible for the design concepts.
Upon completion, the project will bring a seven-story building offering 16 apartments. The apartment complex will feature a subterranean parking lot on the site. Renderings depict a contemporary podium-type structure, similar to other recent developments on nearby blocks in Sawtelle.
The project site was purchased by WS Communities in 2017 for $3.5 million. It was previously developed with a smaller 10-unit apartment complex completed in the early 1970s.
The project site sits on a single parcel of land. Construction is midway through construction on the new apartment complex.
