K Line Opens through West Adams, Inglewood, and Westchester

Los Angeles Metro Rail has announced the opening of the highly anticipated K Line. The route adds seven new stops, and will eventually connect Metro Line E, which travels between Downtown and Santa Monica, to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The light rail line currently serves the communities of West Adams, Jefferson Park, Baldwin Hills, Leimert Park, Hyde Park, Inglewood, and Westchester. The official metro website states that “The K Line was designed and built with the help of community input and local voices to provide a faster, more convenient and reliable way to connect to jobs, schools and the rich cultural places throughout these communities.”

Second of Six Pedestrian Bridges Rises at LAX

Los Angeles World Airports recently announced the placement of the second pedestrian bridge structure over World Way. This bridge will connect the APM Center CTA station to Terminal 2 once the train system is complete. There will be six similar structures at Los Angeles International Airport in total, as part of the larger plan for the Automated People Mover (APM).

Work 70 Percent Complete on Automated People Mover at LAX

Work is over 70 percent complete on the Automated People Mover (APM) guideway at Los Angeles International Airport. Currently, the connection from the guideway over Century Boulevard is underway. The only additional sections to be connected are over Sepulveda Boulevard and between the Center and West Central Terminal Area.
