“City Lights,” the new project at 4531 West Hollywood Boulevard, in East Hollywood, has topped out in East Hollywood, Los Angeles. WPIC Construction has yet to finish the exterior, but the essential form is visible as the 70 foot tall, 438 foot long, and 403-foot wide building takes shape on the busy corner-shaped lot. Burbank-based Chandler Partners and Hollyhill Developers will be responsible for the project.

Plans include a mixed-use five-story structure with a mezzanine floor and an underground garage level. There will be 229,960 square feet of floor space and 13,041 square feet of landscape. Inside, there will be 202 dwelling units and ground-floor retail. Commuters will find parking on-site for 109 compact parking, 12 spaces for disabled parking, and 273 stalls for standard parking. Cyclists will find parking for 118 bicycles on-site along with 24 short-term bicycle parking spaces outside. The Vermont/Sunset station, transporting the Red Line, is also only a couple of blocks away.

The location was initially 13 different land parcels, containing an Auto Zone and the old Hollywood Ford car lot. VTBS Architects are responsible for the design. Hillside grading was required to implement building designs. A $38 million permit valuation was filed for the project. Completion of “City Lights” is expected by the end of this year.
