An apartment complex at 505 West 31st Street, has reached its successful completion. The project proposes housing options marketed toward students. The complex will offer housing for up to 187 residents. Los Angeles-based firm, Canfield Development has invested and developed the property. HBA Architects is responsible for the design and planning.
Named 505 West, the new apartment complex features 73 residential units built on seven floors. The units are offered as a mix of studios, one-bedroom units, and two-bedroom units. A parking space for approximately 78 vehicles is provided on the site. The total square footage of the units ranges from 341 square feet to 1,341 square feet. The developer has set aside eight of the apartments for very low-and moderate-income households as a condition of approval for density bonus incentives. On-site amenities include a rooftop deck, a gym, and a residents’ lounge.
The complex is rendered as a contemporary podium-style structure clad in red brick, a common facade material at the University of Southern California.
The property site is situated northeast of the USC campus in University Park, a block north of Metro’s Jefferson/USC Station.
