An affordable housing project broke ground at 8811 North Sepulveda Boulevard in North Hills, and the project is now taking shape and form. The project proposal includes the development of a residential building featuring 356 income-restricted apartments.
Meta Housing Group is the project developer. AC Martin is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 4.35 acres. Named Mission Gateway, the project will bring interconnected five-story structures featuring 356 apartment units. The residences will be offered as a mix of studios, one, two, three, and four-bedroom dwellings. The apartment complex will cater to households earning at or below 30%-60% of the area’s median income. The complex will yield a building-up area of 525,000 square feet.
The complex will include courtyards, event spaces, and other recreation areas developed on the site for use by residents.
Construction of the roughly $138-million housing complex is being funded by tax-exempt loans and federal tax credits. Completion of construction is expected in mid-2022, and full occupancy is anticipated by early 2023.
The project site is located at the southwest corner of Sepulveda Boulevard and Rayen Street.
