Site preparation has begun for an affordable housing project proposed at 1500 East Anaheim Boulevard in central Long Beach. The project proposal includes the development of a mixed-use building offering residential and retail spaces.
Non-profit developer BRIDGE Housing Corp is the project developer. SVA Architects is responsible for the design concepts. R.D. Olson Construction is the general contractor.
The project will bring 88 residences to a five-story building. The residences will be developed as a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units. Commercial space spanning an area of 22,700 square feet will be designed on the ground floor. The commercial space will most likely be occupied by a medical clinic. A three-story parking garage with a capacity of 156 vehicles will be developed on the site. Proposed rents range from $379 to $1,678 per month.
Renderings reveal a contemporary low-rise apartment complex. Onsite amenities include a rooftop deck, a central courtyard, and recreation rooms.
Applications reveal a budget of $53million. The apartments will be reserved for formerly homeless seniors and low-income families earning between 30 and 60 percent of the area’s median income level.
Completion of the apartment complex is expected in Summer 2023. The project site is located at the intersection of Anaheim Boulevard and Walnut Avenue.
