Buildings are taking shape at the corner of Las Posas Road and Ventura Boulevard, in Camarillo. Plans call for two hotels, 17,500 square feet of conference facility space, 10,500 square feet of retail space, 15,500 square feet of restaurant space, and related parking and landscape improvements. The Mian Companies are behind the development.
The site is 14 acres, and extends between Ventura Boulevard and U.S. 101/Ventura Freeway. It used to be farming land, then El Camino Restaurant, but has remained without any significant use for many years. Nearly 35% of the site will be landscaping, including areas for walkways, patios, and other features.
Up to approximately 277 hotel rooms will be provided. The hotels will be four stories for the two hotel structures and up to 62 feet and 71.4 feet for the hotel towers. Plans include a 155 room Embassy Suites Hotel, and a 122 room Home2Suites Hotel. The single story structures will be 25 to 30 feet tall.
Exteriors will be Spanish-Santa Barbara style in appearance. They will include smooth cement plaster wall surfaces, clear window glazing with bronze anodized frames, accent tile finishes with a variety of tones, and two-piece clay roofing tile for the sloped roof surfaces. RYS Architects are behind the design.
