A new residential project gas been given the green light to began construction at 12611 Willowbrook Avenue. The project proposal includes the construction of a new three-story building offering residential units at affordable rates, community space, and onsite parking.
Linc Housing Corp is the project developer. D33 Design & Planning is responsible for the designs.
Two weeks ago, Los Angeles City Planning Commission approved the affordable housing project 12617 and 12625 South Willowbrook Avenue. The project site will now be redeveloped with a new three-story building featuring 51 apartments with ground-floor community space and a new parking lot. All apartments will be reserved for households earning up to 30 percent of the area’s median income level. The building will also feature a single manager’s unit. Additionally, the Board has approved a $7 million loan from the County’s affordable housing trust fund to facilitate the project’s construction. Linc would tap other sources to cover the total $28.6 million cost of the project.
Renderings reveal a contemporary low-rise structure with exterior finishes of metal, stucco, and concrete, with wood accents. Plans also call for a small garden along the southern property line. The project construction is anticipated to occur over a roughly 21-month period, with market availability of the apartments expected in 2025.
