A new residential mixed-use project is under construction taking shape and form at 1341 Gardena Avenue in Gardena. The project proposal includes the construction of a new three-story mixed-use building offering spaces for residential and retail uses.
Los Angeles-based real estate firm South Bay Developers is the project developer.
Since 2022, construction work has been continuing on the facade of a three-story building at the project site. The scope of work includes the development of a three-story mixed-use property yielding a total built-up area of 22,700 square feet. The mixed-use will bring 15 apartments above ground-floor commercial space.
The proposed design reveals a modern look for the low-rise building, featuring facades of brick and stucco. The exterior will have brick veneers on the first two levels, with a rooftop terrace planned above.
The project site sits a short distance to the south of a site on Normandie Avenue neighboring 30 townhomes. A few blocks to the south, a new SRO-style apartment building opened in 2022.
