A new affordable housing has been proposed for development at 3833 South Grand Avenue in the Historic South-Central neighborhood in Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a new four-story residential project offering 54 units.

Rohan Gupta of the Kulbushan Gupta 1990 Family Trust is listed as the owner and applicant. John Kaliski Architects is responsible for the designs.

The scope of work includes the construction of a new four-story building featuring 54 units as affordable housing. The units will be designed as a mix of studios and one-bedroom floor plans. No on-site parking has been proposed.

Requested approvals also include density bonus incentives to permit a larger structure than allowed by zoning rules. The project is eligible due to the provision of low- and moderate-income housing.

Renderings reveal a contemporary low-rise structure. The project sits mid-block between two larger, mixed-income developments planned at Grand Avenue’s intersections with 38th and 39th Streets. The project site is located close to USC and Exposition Park. The project will be developed using Executive Directive 1.

The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet.
