A new affordable housing project has been proposed for development at 3812 West Adams Boulevard in Jefferson Park, Los Angeles. The project proposal pitches 88 residential units through Mayor’s Executive Directive 1. If approved, the proposed affordable housing will replace a small apartment building on the site which was built in the 1940s. Orion Housing is the project developer. JPark Architects is responsible for the designs.

A new mixed-use has been proposed for development at 3022 South Western Avenue in Jefferson Park, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a mixed-use facility offering apartments and retail spaces. The project will replace a warehouse and an attached parking area on the site. CIM Group is the project developer. Nadel Architects is responsible for the designs. TGP is serving as the landscape architect.

K Line Opens through West Adams, Inglewood, and Westchester

Los Angeles Metro Rail has announced the opening of the highly anticipated K Line. The route adds seven new stops, and will eventually connect Metro Line E, which travels between Downtown and Santa Monica, to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The light rail line currently serves the communities of West Adams, Jefferson Park, Baldwin Hills, Leimert Park, Hyde Park, Inglewood, and Westchester. The official metro website states that “The K Line was designed and built with the help of community input and local voices to provide a faster, more convenient and reliable way to connect to jobs, schools and the rich cultural places throughout these communities.”
