The Metropointe has opened at 3524 Chesapeake Avenue, in West Adams. The project has increased density at the location by up to 70 percent. Schaffel Development Company is behind the two building projects, referred to as Metropoine North and Metropoine South.
The buildings are roughly the same size, the larger being 45 feet tall, 89 feet wide, and 94 feet long. Together, they bring 46 new units to the area, including 3 extremely low income, 2 very low income, and 1 low-income housing unit. Floor plans include one-bedroom/one-bath, two-bedroom/two-bath, and two-bedroom/one-bath layouts.
Amenities at the locations are controlled access entry, a BBQ lounge area at the courtyard, and on-site professional management. The South building has a gym with a treadmill and elliptical. Gated garage parking is offered upon availability. Long-term and short-term bicycle parking is available. The sites are a short walking distance of the Metro Farmdale light rail station and the E line.
Stockton Architects is behind the designs, a contemporary take with some mid-century-inspired elements. Balconies are included in some of the units. The permit valuation total for the buildings at the time of filing was $6.8 million. Applications for tenants are currently being accepted on the Metropointe website.
