Long Beach Planning Commission approved a mixed-use project at 525 East Broadway in Downtown Long Beach. The project proposal includes the development of a seven-story building offering residential and retail space.
Topanga Partners is the project developer. Daryoush Safai is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
The project was approved in May 2021 and will bring an apartment complex to a quarter-acre site. The building will offer forty-eight two-bedroom apartments ranging between 1,000 square feet and 1,200 square feet in size. Retail space spanning an area of 5,090 square feet will be designed on the ground floor. A three-level semi-subterranean parking garage with a capacity of sixty vehicles will be constructed on the site.
Renderings reveal a contemporary-style building with a U-shaped footprint above podium level. A small courtyard will be built in the center.
The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet. The property site is located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Broadway and Atlantic Avenue.
