Pre-leasing Started at 227 North First Street, in Burbank

Pre-leasing has begun at 227 North First Street, in Burbank, according to signage posted on the building. The project, entitled “First Street Village,” is the beginning of the development of the site, which will contain three separate buildings that are rolling out in phases. Del Rey Properties is the developer, with Chandler Partners serving as the project’s general contractor.

This first building is the smallest of the structures. A total of 27,100 square feet were demolished to make way for it, including a smaller single story structure. Two similar designs will rise to it’s left and right, paralleling the Golden State Freeway.

Each component will surround a central courtyard. There will be a total of 275 multifamily apartments, including 14 “Workforce Housing Units” on the upper floors, as well as resident amenities, designs depict rooftop patios on all of the buildings. There will be a total of 18,976 square-feet of retail/commercial space on the ground floors. Retail use will have 9,711 square-feet, and a maximum of 9,265 square-feet will be for restaurant use.

CBA Partnership is designing the complex. Added infrastructure will include a 20”-10” pedestrian walkway along First Street to encourage outdoor dining patios and retail establishments along the First Street frontage. There will also be enhancement of transit facilities to encourage the use of public transit to and from the site, which is across the freeway from the Burbank Downtown Station.
