A new affordable housing project is under construction taking shape and form at 2814 West Empire Avenue in Burbank. The project proposal includes the constriction of a new seven-story building offering affordable housing units. The project replaced Kid’s Castle at 2814 Empire Avenue.

ABS Properties is listed as the project developer. Edwin Mohabir Architects is designing the project.

The scope of work includes the development of a new seven-story building that features 148 affordable housing units. The units are designed as a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom floor plans. The apartments will range from 450 to 900 square feet in size.

The apartments will be divided into 83 units designated for very low- and extremely low-income households and 62 apartments for low-income households.

Wood framing is complete for the affordable housing complex. The estimated market availability has not been revealed yet. The project site is located near Robert E. Gross Park in Burbank.
