A new affordable housing project is under construction at 515 Pioneer Drive in Glendale. The project proposal includes the construction of three five-story buildings, cumulatively offering 340 apartment units reserved for low-income households. The project site previously housed an AT&T store.

Linc Housing Corp. and National CORE are the project developers. KFA Architecture is responsible for the designs.

Upon completion, the project will be celebrated as Glendale’s largest affordable housing complex.

The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 2.8 acres. The project broke ground nine months ago, and construction continues for an affordable housing complex consisting of three five-story buildings. The apartment complex will bring a total of 340 units, designed as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floor plans.

The affordable housing complex will yield a total built-up area measuring 300,000 square feet. The units will be available for households earning between 30 and 80 percent of the area’s median income level. Plans also call for a two-level, 342-car subterranean parking garage.

Renderings reveal an exterior expressed in stucco, fiber cement panels, and thin brick veneer. Amenities include open spaces and common features such as courtyards, community gardens, rooftop decks, and children’s play areas.

The project is located toward the south of the SR-134. The project is expected to reach completion in late 2025.
