A new residential project has been proposed for development at 806 South Manhattan Place in Koreatown, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a seven-story building offering 33 apartment units. If approved, the project will require the demolition of an existing residential building onsite built in the 1940s.
Bedrock Property Investors is the project applicant. Archeon Group is designing the apartment complex.
The scope of work includes the construction of a seven-story building offering a total of 33 apartments. The apartments will be designed as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floor plans. The building will also offer round-floor parking for seven vehicles. Renderings reveal a contemporary podium-type structure with a rooftop deck.
Requested entitlements include Transit Oriented Communities incentives, which would permit a larger building than normally allowed by zoning rules. In exchange, four of the apartments will be set aside for rent by extremely low-income households.
The project site is located one block west of 8th Street and Western Avenue. An application was submitted to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning last week. The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet.
