A new residential project has been proposed for development at 126 South Kenwood Avenue in Glendale. The project proposal includes the construction of a new five-story residential building offering spaces for 40 units.
VK Group is the project developer. Urban Design Specialists is responsible for the designs.
A project presentation was shared with the Glendale City Council; with renderings showcasing a multifamily residential development with onsite parking.
The scope of work includes the construction of a new five-story building featuring 40 units. The units will be designed as a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom floor plans. Onsite parking will also be designed for 73 vehicles. The proposal relies on density bonus incentives to permit a larger building than allowed by zoning rules. In exchange, five of the apartments will be set aside for rent by very low-income households.
Renderings reveal a modern podium-style construction, featuring publicly accessible open space at the ground floor toward the northwest corner. Onsite amenities include a rooftop deck.
A staff report recommends approval of state one preliminary design review for the project. The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet. The apartment complex will be developed on a site that is located three blocks east of Brand Boulevard.
