A new affordable housing project has been proposed for development at 6942 North Baird Avenue in Reseda. The project proposal includes the construction of a new four-story building offering affordable housing options to the locals. If approved, the project would replace a duplex on the site.
Angeleno Investments is the project developer. Open Office is responsible for the designs.
The scope of work includes the demolition of an existing duplex residence on the site in order to construct a new affordable housing complex rising four stories high. The building will bring 38 affordable housing units designed as a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom floor plans. At this time no on-site parking has been proposed.
Renderings reveal a modern design for the affordable housing complex, with a low-rise facade expressed in metal and fiber cement panels.
Last week, an Executive Directive 1 application was submitted to the Planning Department. Requested approvals include density bonus incentives to permit waivers from certain zoning rules. All of the homes would be set aside for rent by low- and moderate-income households. The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet.
