Framing is continuing to rise at 227 North First Street, in Burbank, Los Angeles. The project is entitled “1st Street Village.” Del Rey Properties is the developer, with Chandler Partners working as the project’s general contractor.
When completed, the site will house three separate buildings that are rolling out in phases. There will be a total of 275 multifamily apartments, including 14 “Workforce Housing Units” on the upper floors, as well as resident amenities. There will be a total of 18,976 square feet of retail/commercial space on the ground floors, 9,711 square feet for retail uses, and a maximum of 9,265 square feet for restaurant uses.
Designs include 20”-10” pedestrian walkway along First Street to encourage outdoor dining patios and retail establishments along the First Street frontage. There will also be enhancement of transit facilities to encourage the use of public transit to and from the site.
CBA Partnership is designing the complex. Residential units will be equipped with Energy Star (or similar energy-efficient) appliances and water-conserving fixtures. It is estimated to finish in 2023.
