Work is wrapping up at 918 East Thompson Boulevard, in Ventura. The project, by Daly Group, will bring new micro units and a little commercial space to the area. It has been titled, “Kai Thom.” The site is within walking distance of the beach, and the shopping and cultural attractions of the Downtown region.
The project is on a .7 acre lot and has 28,500 square feet of floor. It consists of three buildings, each of which is approximately 42 feet tall, with three stories, encircling a central courtyard. 45 residential units will be inside, five of which will be low income housing. One will fall under the very low income tier, two under the low income, and two under the moderate income. 545 square feet of commercial area will be on the corner of Kalorama and Thompson.
Amenities will include a leasing office/business center, courtyard, dog run, roof deck, and clubhouse. There will be semi-subterranean parking, with a total of 46 spaces. Some will be for electric vehicles.
Studio Antares A+E are behind the architectural design. The units are grouped in townhouses of five per a building. Each townhouse has two apartments on the ground floor with a private patio, while second-floor apartments are accessible by private stair via the courtyard. The exterior blends industrial and Spanish elements into a cohesive, contemporary design.
