A new apartment complex has been proposed to replace a single-family home at 570 Normandie Avenue in East Hollywood, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of 16 apartments, replacing a single-family residence from the 1920s.
Investment firm Surco Holdings is the project developer. Kevin Tsai Architecture is responsible for the design concepts.
The proposed project calls for the construction of a new four-story edifice featuring 16 apartments, offered as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. A subterranean parking for 14 vehicles will also be designed on the site.
Requested entitlements included Transit Oriented Communities incentives to permit a taller, larger building than otherwise allowed by zoning regulations. Two of the new apartments would be reserved as affordable housing at the very low-income level in exchange for the incentives.
Renderings reveal an edifice clad in metal screens, accented with smooth-finish black and white stucco.
The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet. The property site is located at the intersection of Normandie and Clinton, a short distance south of the US-101 Freeway.
