More Low Income Housing Proposed for 536 Meta Street, in Oxnard

A building dedicated to low income housing has been proposed for 536 Meta Street, in Oxnard. Many Mansions is the developer behind the project. The location is adjacent to their other project, Central Terrace, and will have a similar design.

The project has been titled “Aspire Apartments,” it is currently an empty lot. The five story structure will be a podium design. Renderings depict neutral coloring. The units will be built around a central courtyard. 88 residences will be inside. 87 will be for families making sixty percent of the median income or less. An additional unit will be reserved for a manager.

There will be 2,800 square feet of common space in total. Amenities will include community gathering space and social services support. Oxnard Development Commission Successor Agency has additionally partnered in the project, to acquire and develop a pocket park that will be accessible to the public.

A $250,000 pre-development loan was received for the project from Housing Trust Fund Ventura County. Developers aim to receive additional funding, from entities such as the State. A timeline has not been announced.
