Exterior finishing is underway at 325 North Fickett Street, in East Los Angeles. Bancomer Construction and Development are currently working on the project, which will bring 22 low-income housing units and one manager’s unit to the area, each of which will have its own private balcony or patio.

When completed, the building will be three stories high, with 14,000 square feet of floor. It will be 32 feet tall, 133 feet long, and 38 feet wide. Inside there will be 22 apartments. 3 units will be in the extremely low-income tier, 17 in the low income, and 1 in the very low income. They will all be one-bedroom, one-bathroom layouts.

The site will not have parking in addition to the streetside parking available. There will be 22 long-term and 3 short-term bicycle parking spaces provided. On-site laundry will be available. A variety of restaurants and shops are a short walking distance away along East Cesar Chaves Avenue. A bus stop is also about three blocks away at East Cesar Chaves Avenue and North Soto Street.

Oak Road is behind the project, which they refer to as “Micro 22.” The site was previously an empty lot and is surrounded by smaller, mostly one and two-story residences. The permit valuation was $1.8 million at the time of filing.
