A new affordable housing project has been inaugurated at 9502 Van Nuys Boulevard in Panorama City. The project proposal includes the construction of a new four-story building offering spaces for affordable housing. Plans called for the demolition of an auto body repair shop and a single-family home on the site.
LA Family Housing and Domus Development are the project developers. FSY Architects is responsible for the designs. Alpha Construction Company served as a general contractor.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on October 12 in Panorama City to welcome Talisa Apartments, the affordable housing complex. The project site is a corner lot now occupied by a four-story building offering permanent supportive housing. The housing complex has 48 residential units designed as a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom floor plans priced for extremely low-income households. The building also features one unit for an on-site manager. Parking for 30 vehicles is located within an at-grade garage.
The apartment complex incorporates common amenities such as a playground, a community garden, and a computer lab. Domus will also serve as property manager, while LA Family Housing will offer on-site supportive services to residents.
