A new affordable housing project has been proposed for development at 1747 Stoner Avenue in Sawtelle, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a new six-story building offering 53 apartments as affordable housing options. The project will require the demolition of small residential buildings on the site.
Passo is the project developer. Aero Collective is responsible for the designs.
The scope of work includes the demolition of the existing duplex and single-family home on the site, in order to make way for a new six-story building offering 73 studios and one-bedroom apartments. No on-site parking has been proposed at this time.
Requested approvals include density bonus incentives to permit a larger structure than allowed by zoning rules. As a fully affordable development restricted to low- and moderate-income households, the project is eligible for the incentives.
The project will be executed using Executive Directive 1 affordable housing. A project application has been submitted to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning. The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet.
