Stories are rising at 770 South Seaward Avenue, in Ventura. The site is slated to become a Residence Inn Marriott. Pacifica Companies are bringing their experience to the project. They have also worked on a Hilton, as well as a Courtyard Marriott in Century City.

The lot is a triangle shape, bordered by the 101 in the front, a commercial structure on the shortest side, and a steep hill behind the lot, leading up to Vista Del Mar Drive. The development will be four stories tall, with 93,000 square feet of hotel space. The maximum building height will be from 30 feet to 40 feet as measured to the building parapet and 52 feet to the top of the architectural feature.

There will be 128 rooms inside. Amenities will include a pool, exercise room, a roof deck with ocean and beach views, and a reflection garden. The site is a 15 minute walk away from the beach, and a 10 minute walk away from a shopping center with a grocery store and a Starbucks.

Plans for the project have been in the works for over a decade. Earlier plans called for a 152 room Hyatt Place hotel. Current renderings depict an elongated “S”shape design with a contemporary aesthetic.
