AMCAL Multi-Housing Company has unveiled new designs for an affordable housing development at 4900 Eagle Rock Boulevard. The project, now under review by the City of Los Angeles, will deliver 64 income-restricted apartments in Eagle Rock. The design team has shifted from BSB Design, which prepared the initial concept, to The Albert Group Architects, which authored the updated plans.
Construction is active at 12032–12038 Washington Place in Mar Vista, where two townhome-style buildings are rising. The plan delivers eight homes across two buildings, each four floors tall with four dwellings per structure. Each structure is planned with private rooftop outdoor space. Design is by Stockton Architects, and records list 1340 Broadway, LLC as owner.
A filing with the Los Angeles Department of City Planning proposes replacing four existing houses at 112 N. Mariposa Avenue, with a six-story, 24-unit apartment building. The site sits east of Normandie Avenue in Koreatown. Diamond Property, LLC is listed as the owner, and bB|A Studios is the architect of record.
Thatcher Yard has opened at 3233 South Thatcher Avenue in Venice’s Oxford Triangle, converting a former City maintenance yard into an intergenerational affordable housing community. The project provides 98 income-restricted homes for seniors and families across low-rise buildings topping out at three stories. The 2.14-acre site occupies the block bounded by Thatcher Avenue, Princeton Drive, Oxford Avenue, and Harbor Crossing Lane.
Construction is complete on Joshua Tree Hall and Hibiscus Hall at Cal State Northridge, located at 17950 Lassen Street at the northeast corner of campus at Lassen Street and Zelzah Avenue in University Park. The two buildings rise four stories and together provide 198 student beds in double-occupancy rooms. Move-in is scheduled for Fall 2025. CW Driver Companies is the project developer. AC Martin is the architect of record for the new residence halls.
