A new data center project has been proposed for development at 727 South Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction and operation of a new 13-story building to be utilized as a data center. The project site is currently occupied by a 179,105 square-foot, five-story parking structure, with no subterranean levels. GIP 7th Street, LLC is the project applicant. A new art center project is taking shape and form at its project site at 225 East 5th Street in Downtown Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a youth art center in the historic Fire Station No. 23. The project calls for the conversion of the structure that dates back more than 20 years. The fire station came into service in 1910, and even accommodate horse-drawn fire engines until 1915. It was considered one of the most advanced facilities of its type at the time of its construction. Brooks + Scarpa is responsible for the designs.

The project proposal is a part of a master plan for the site, which includes multiple properties fronting 4th Street, Alameda Street, and Central Avenue. The project proposes to bring a mix of housing, offices, a hotel, and commercial uses, as well as open space. Denver-based Continuum Partners is the project developer.
